WB sets rewrite of 'Jetsons' script

Warner Bros. has drawn on "Chewie" scribes Van Robichaux and Evan Susser to rewrite its bigscreen version of TV toon "The Jetsons." Jesse P Line and Denise Di Novi are creating the live-action feature, that the latter continues to be developing for over a decade with a variety of authors. Most lately, Adam F. Goldberg have been penning the script. Story will focus on the Hanna-Barbera show, which revolved round the existence and occasions of George, Jane, Judy and Elroy Jetson. The Television series first broadcast in primetime in 1962 as Hanna-Barbera's Space Age counterpart to "The Flintstones." This is not the very first time a studio has introduced the most popular TV skein towards the giant screen. Universal launched a "Jetsons" pic in 1990, directed by Frederick Barbera, co-founding father of the Hanna-Barbera company and among the designers from the original series from 1962. WME and Untitled Entertainment repetition both scribes. Contact Variety Staff at news@variety.com
